I uploaded two assessment/feedback sheets for: - Paper 2: Writing (Cultural topic essays) and, - Paper 3: Speaking Plus : -a Cultural essay planning sheet to guide students. The assessment sheets can be used when giving feedback for the Speaking exam and essays for the new AQA A-Level German/ French / Spanish and essays. Both documents contain the Assessment Objectives for the New AQA A-level and a blank form to provide feedback.

This is a resource I adapted from something called a very useful booklet for A-level. Unfortunately, I don’t know who wrote the original for A-level but I hope you can find this booklet for GCSE Useful. You can edit it to add/remove areas to meet your needs.

Hope you find this resource useful in the run-up to the oral exams. Have your students working in pairs, taking turns to roll the dice to answer the question on the sheet. It doesn’t matter if they roll the same number twice, the more practice they get, the better. You can limit the practice time per area to 5-6 minutes. You can edit it and adapt it to your own needs.

Using structure strips have been incredibly useful and rewarding for my pupils. I have been using them to help students to form better quality paragraphs. These 8 speaking cards are aimed for years 12 and 13. Students have been using them in class and with the language assistant to guide and structure their conversations. These cards have been created according to the new specifications in order to provide more opportunities for practice. Hope you find them useful.

This handout aims to support Spanish IGCSE students organising Part 2 and 3 of the speaking examination by defining which areas they would like to cover in the General conversation and which in their Topic presentation. It helps them get a better understanding of the exam. I also added an activity I usually set as holiday homework to my set B students in order to support them writing their Topic presentation. I ask students to write a book about themselves and include pictures. (they love this part) after this book is marked and corrected, we discuss which chapter they enjoyed more writing about and we discuss how we can use that for their oral exam.
